Australian businesses wanting to promote themselves in other parts of the world need to decide how many variations of an internet domain name they wish to register other than the standard ".com". They need to determine whether a rival company in another country is not using the same ".com" name they wish to use. It is possible that if the same name is already in use, the customers they wish to attract will go this alternate site instead.
