FED:Abbot wants a "guided democracy"

TONY ABBOTT has been overheard .. suggesting we could use a more guided democracy.

The Opposition Leader made his comment to Nauru's President MARCUS STEPHEN yesterday
.. noting that the media in some other countries is much less disruptive than in Australia.

But the media .. in form of a pack of photographers .. were nearby and close enough
to hear what Mr ABBOTT was saying.

Mr ABBOTT discussed with the Nauru leader a coalition's plan to re-open an asylum processing
centre in the island nation that was set up by the former Howard government as part of
its Pacific Solution.

The Opposition Leader says Nauru is ready .. willing and able to reopen the centre.
