NATO holds emergency session over Kosovo

NATO ambassadors held an emergency session at alliance headquarters today to decide on a
strategy for dealing with the rapidly unraveling cease-fire in Kosovo.

The threat of NATO airstrikes, hanging over the heads of Serb authorities since October,
remained an option as Serb forces launched a new attack on the ethnic Albanian village of
Racak, where 45 people were massacred, and reports emerged of attacks on other nearby
communities.
