Career, technology students compete for scholarships.

Apr. 25--High school students from across Tennessee will test their skills in 64 occupational areas including computer repair, cosmetology and health science today at the Leadership and Skills Conference in Chattanooga.

"The students here have made it to the state level, and the winners will go on to the national competition," said David Boreing, the Tennessee Department of Education's liaison with SkillsUSA, the national student vocational organization sponsoring the three-day conference. "And some of the winners will walk away with scholarship money and other prizes."
