SA: Future of heroin rehabilitation program in doubt

A heroin rehabilitation program in South Australia says it will close today unless
it gets government funding.

The director of Addiction Counselling Services says it needs a $400,000 commitment
from the state government to continue.

MIM WHITE says the service at Port Augusta has clients due to arrive today -- but the
gate will be locked unless the money comes through.

The program treats up to 20 heroin addicts at a time on a three-month live-in basis.
